Description

Wood carving by Norwegian sculptor Valentin Axel Kielland (1866-1944): "Arbeidergutt" (Boy Worker) dated 1904. Kielland was educated in Paris where he shared an appartment with Edvard Munch. In the period 1903-05, while running a school for sculpture and wood carving in Kristiania (now Oslo), he carved a series of very sensitive portraits called "Mennesker" (People).
