H. St. Lerche

Between 1910 and 1920, Fratelli Toso, Murano, worked with the Norwegian artist Hans Stoltenberg Lerche to produce a series of glass objects blown by Vittorio Toso for the Biennale di Venezia in 1912, 1914 and 1920. It was the first time in the history of Murano that a glass factory cooperated with an outside artist. After the artist's death in 1920, a major retrospective took place in the Norwegian Hall of the First International Exhibition of Decorative Arts at Monza (1923). At the time of his death, he was working on an exhibition of his Murano glass work in Kristiania (Oslo).
